Possibly an accurate assessment of the studio system… but for some reason, it does manage to produce good movies now and then. I’ve got a feeling Watchmen could be one of them.

It’s a mistake to condemn the entire industry, all the people working in it, and all of its products.

For the record, I hated the movie of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and I was very disappointed with V for Vendetta. I’m not all that keen on making bad movies out of good comics. I don’t think that’s happening here. I think Zack Synder has a tight team that works well together, and I think he has a good handle on what Watchmen is about. Kudos to Warner for having the guts to back him, and boo on Fox for making a cash grab.

What about “the vacant-head, MOVIE-crazed COMICS system”. You can’t tell me that Marvel and DC haven’t changed the way they make comics to pander to the TV and movie industries.

Well Kevin Smith said he saw an early cut of this and star trek and he said it was awesome. He also saw an early screening of The Dark Knight and said it was was of the best movies he had seen and he was right about that lol

I’m just wondering, have you seen the movie? You seem so dead sure about that?

Me, I’m on the fence, but am willing to give Snyder a chance, and see the movie before condemning or praising the film.

I am a big Alan Moore fan (especially his Swamp Thing run) but the man hates everything! Yes his creations have been burned in the past by film makers (V for Vendetta, League of Extraordenary Gentlemen, and From Hell) but Watchmen looks good. And aside from a few things (the heroes being called “Watchmen” and no monster ending) I think it will be great!

I sure hope this is just the goddamn beginning. Fox and Warner Bros. both forgot one important signature in all this mess: Alan Moore’s. It’s his book. DC stole it, and Zach Snyder beat it into little pieces to sell it as peanut brittle on behalf of the vacant-head, comics-crazed studios system.

i sure hope this means the end of the whole stupid thing. and also teachers Warner’s and Fox both to make sure they have all the rights to the movie before they even start a script. hope it means all sides get what they want fans see the film march six. fox gets some payout and Warner’s gets to release it as planned
