I just finished Crogan’s Vengeance by Chris Schweizer (Oni Press) and Prince of Heroes Chapter I by Rod Espinosa (Antarctic Press) today, along with a whole bunch of books from Stone Arch Books (an educational publisher that is putting out some fun gns for young kids). In prose, I’m currently reading Throne of Jade by Naomi Novik, it’s the second volume in the Temeraire series, about fighting dragons in the Napoleonic era. I’ve got Real Vol. 2 by Takehiko Inoue waiting for me right now.

I just finished a review copy of Oishinbo, this incredibly awesome food manga that’s due out soon from Viz. It’s apparently a billion volumes long, so Viz is publishing themed collections of selected stories instead of the whole thing, which is a little disappointing. But what’s there is pretty amazing.

I’m reading SPEAKS THE NIGHTBIRD, by Robert McCammon.

My to-be-read stack is heavy on prose at the moment — next up are PROMISES TO KEEP by Joe Biden, the revised edition of THE FICTION EDITOR, THE NOVEL AND THE NOVELIST by Thomas McCormack, the MEAN STREETS anthology by Butcher, Green, Richardson and Sniegoski, LUD-IN-THE-MIST by Hope Mirrlees, some Chestomanci books by Diana Wynne Jones…

Next non-research comics read I do will probably be TOKEN by Alisa Kwitney & Joelle Jones, or PHONOGRAM by Kieron Gillen & Jamie McKelvie.

Currently sitting by my bed are some random Warlord issues, and the original magazine sized adaption of Raiders of the Lost Ark.(picked up at a flea market for a 25 cents a piece, never read either) Farscape #1, last couple of Buffy TVS issues,

Oh and the 4 Twilight novels that my sister thinks I’ll like to read.

I read ‘Bottomless Belly Button’ on a flight home from New Orleans last night. Deserves the hype. Currently starting Alan Moore’s ‘Promethea’ run in TPBs. Never read it and really enjoying it so far (toward end of Vol. 1).
