Clark dumped ketchup on a plate of beef bourguignon during an outdoor cafe date with Lois in 1977 or 1978 issue of Superman or Action Comics. Lois thought that was a typically boneheaded move, as BB was Clark's favorite dish. It's a throwaway moment in either a Cary Bates or an Elliot S. Maggin story.

Lois also made BB for Clark during a dinner date - see Superman 266-299 from 1976. That seems to be the first mention of the dish - but it's an important clue, as Clark was actually dating Lois at the time. No ketchup in that arc, though.

The details that Kurt remembers amaze me.

That's a Green Lantern solo story, Gary. He uses Ollie's chili recipe, but the mushrooms he puts in are tainted -- not shrooms, but there's a recall notice on that brand for health reasons, that he doesn't know about.

But it does establish that Ollie has a chili recipe, indicating that he makes chili, at least.

>> Nutsy Squirrel is a National/DC funny-animal character created by Woody Gelman and Irving Dressler for Funny Folks #1 (May 1946). In the mainline DC universe, Nutsy is a popular funny-animal character whose likeness graces at least one amusement park (as seen in Justice League Spectacular #1 (March-April 1992)).>>

There's also a pre-Crisis LOIS LANE story where Clark tries to distract Lois about something by pointing out the hilarious antics of Nutsy in the Daily Planet comics page that day...
