DC makes Final Crisis hardcover more readable
DC Comics announced changes to the Final Crisis hardcover, which is scheduled to hit stores June 10.
The book, originally scheduled to feature Final Crisis #1-7, will now also include Final Crisis: Submit and Final Crisis: Superman Beyond #1-2. Both were also written by Grant Morrison, and both were pretty central to the story. Speaking as someone who didn’t read the second Superman Beyond until after he read Final Crisis #7, the extra content should help the ending make a lot more sense to people reading it for the first time.

Something of a no-brainer, this.

Shouldn’t it be “readable”? Is this even possible?

They’re not going to include those two issues of Batman? Those two issues are nearly as central to the story as Superman Beyond. Plus, they were awesome.

I would have preferred Submit be left out. Both the art and writing (even with Morrison at the helm) are much weaker than the rest of Final Crisis / Beyond and it’s a very straight forward point a to point b tale that didn’t really need to be told.
It felt more like he was made to tell that story and you can easily read FC without Submit and not miss a beat. In fact, there are far more pressing matters that deserved more attention over watching Tattooed Man run around for 22 pages.

Should have dropped Submit and put in the Batman tie-ins, but DC probably didn’t want people to end up with them twice (RIP TPB); as critical as I’ve been of this series, I feel like it’s one I’m going to reread quite a bit over the years, and grow to appreciate it more, when dropped out of the context of “game changing mega event.” Though disappointing, parts of it haven’t left me, and it’s still tickling bits of my brain.

Is “more readable” even English?

You would prefer “readabler”?
It seems foolish even to consider not including Superman Beyond 1 and 2.
The scene with the army of Supermen has stuck with me.

I’m really hoping that English is not your first language. Otherwise, your post is incredibly ironic.
