Best line of the entire series:

Batman: "I have a plan." And with a sly grin, we know all will be right within 5 issues.

I may have to start using "data-blort" in everyday conversations. My wife's a business analyst, so it shouldn't be too hard....

"Zall" is probably as good as "Ex-Hall," which is how I tend to pronounce it. (There are apparently two correct ways to pronounce "Ra's Al Ghul," depending on whether you're live-action or animated.) I just didn't think "Ex-Hale" would be the right way to go -- especially coming from "Coriander." :-)

I think I'm going to miss these, Tom, they've been very enjoyable each week.

As for X'Hal, I thought is was pronounced "Zall". Have I been voicing it wrong?

Cheers,

>> What are the black areas of panels 2 and 3? >>

I don't know. I haven't seen the page inked or colored yet -- there are no black areas in the pencils.

>> If memory serves, “L.O.S.2″ (which I think should be L.O.S.T. 2) stands for Low Orbit Supersonic (Transport), version 2. I don’t think we’ve been told why it crashed, because it seemed to be doing fine last issue.>>

The ship we see was never named, but it's a variant of the L.O.S.T. So I called it the L.O.S.2 -- and that's got to be the right name, because I named it!

It crashed because Gangbuster's not so great at landings, and/or was in a hurry, or the icecap made a lousy landing area. He got them where they needed to go but it was not an ideal landing.

>> “I kept his clothes from that night in storage”: huh. I don’t know whether this detail has ever been previously mentioned.>>

It hasn't been, as far as I know. It was a bit Fabian came up with while we were co-plotting, then left out of the plot, so I plotted it back in; I like it a lot.

>> Back in #42, Firestorm mentioned a “hound” as part of his message to the Trinity about GL/John, but later in the issue, the Void Hound doesn’t come up in the JLA’s meeting. Now it seems from Alfred’s narration that the JLA knew the Void Hound was involved, and just didn’t mention it at the meeting. I guess when it’s no longer controlling a massive Qwardian engine of destruction, it’s (literally) not as big a threat.>>

The Void Hound wasn't acting independently back then; it was under Qwardian control. These days, it's had a lot to think about, so its personality has changed. Plus, it doesn't have the same weapons available.

And Firestorm was told at that meeting to put together a report on everything he could decipher from that data-blort John Stewart sent him; that included Void-Houndage.
