A book painted by John Bolton and written by Paul Chadwick, there are loads of people who would love that who aren't going to even consider buying back issues, even at just $1.49 each. And for that matter, possibly the greatest Vertigo series ever, the DeMatteis/Sweetman THE LAST ONE, is similarly priced as a back issue, and I already have every issue, but I'm still probably going to break down and buy the recent collection (if there had been a hardcover I probably already would have). But if you just want to know how it ends, and with a collection nowhere on the horizon, $1.49 is hard to beat, and a lot better than that $5 plus shipping Amazon link you have (you can get the whole series for that much). I'm really, really lazy about tracking down this sort of stuff. On the other hand though, I think this series would really benefit from being collected in one book. The individual issues really feel like chapters in a short novel. There's no awkward transition between issues that sometimes plague projects of this nature. Yeah, I know.
