I think it can't hurt either that the few people I've seen online who have admitted to watching the leaked copy have given the flick generally positive reviews.

The Hulk movie had its workup copy released early too and no one complained about it. Most lauded it as a great reboot/retooling of the franchise. The high horse 'shame on you downloaders' thing is kind of funny though, especially from big movie related sites that feed on leaked footage/set shots and screenplays and so on for their major content.

In the end, the movie will do good or bad based on how good it is; not because of a leaked, unfinished version. In the world of conspiracies, I'd wager Fox released the movie early due to fears of quality and wanted to gauge reactions / have an excuse beforehand.

"Instead, though, the very bloggers who’d probably be writing this thing off are refusing to post reviews of an unfinished product and shaming downloaders.”

Yeah, right. Like illegal downloaders can actually be shamed.

I saw the leaked copy (curiosity got the best of me). I thought it was decent, but (pardon the pun) incomplete. When I heard there were reshoots and the leak was actually incomplete (missing key scenes), it made me all the more willing to pay for a ticket.
