Per Wikipedia: Mercury is "a heavy, silvery d-block metal [that] is one of six elements that are liquid at or near room temperature and pressure, the others being caesium, francium, gallium, bromine, and rubidium. Mercury is the only metal liquid at standard conditions for temperature and pressure . . . " What other metals did you have in mind, mikel?

mercury is not the only metal that exists in the form of a liquid, too often perpetuated however the mistake started...hopefully it won't continue in the new metal men story

I have to admit, Trinity has been rather disappointing. The lackluster art mixed with a story which just seems to be one gigantic piece of bad fan fiction really has been, at least so far, a waste of time. I've seen no actual point for this story being told.

I stuck with Trinity hoping this train wreck would correct itself but it didn't. As disappointing as "Countdown to Final Crisis".

I have difficulty believing Tomorrow Woman actually died, if only since Hal Jordan survived similarly from trying to save the world over exertion. One more issue to see if Mr. Busiek did or didn't kill her.

I hope to read that phrase in at least every other installment of the Giffen/DeMatteis/Maguire "Metal Men." It was annoying long before "tactile telekinesis" came along.

By the way, here's something that I'm sorry I hadn't remembered before. In Doom Patrol vol. 2 #59 (September 1992), written by Grant Morrison, the character Willoughby Kipling refers to the issue's villain destroying "the anima mundi, the soul of the world." He goes on to say that "[w]hen the world's dream of itself is dead, the world's people will have no spiritual base. Everyone will go insane and die, deprived of dreams."

When I read that (again) last night, naturally "the soul of the world" caught my eye, but linking it to dreams -- as in the dreams which originally plagued the Trinity and Troika -- also seemed very significant. I'm not insinuating that Trinity's Worldsoul was inspired by this issue of Doom Patrol. More than likely, they were both inspired by the same, or similar, metaphysical ideas. It would also be futile to pigeonhole these concepts with the Sandman and the rest of DC's cosmology. I just thought it was a fun coincidence.

So there you go.
