I've always preferred Veronica. I feel Betty has no respect for herself for allowing to be the second fiddle every time. I mean, Archie takes advantage of her "niceness" and eats her cakes and then leaves her to go on a date with Veronica. Seriously, Doesn't she have any love for herself?

Anyway there's no way this will stick, it would ruin the series dynamic.

Haha! It only makes sense, really. Betty is way out of Archie's league, and soon he will realize his mistake by marrying the self-centered Veronica and leaving Betty to move on and never look back.

This is just wrong on so many levels, mainly because Archie needs to exist in a time warp without ever making up his mind (never mind that Betty should have moved on years ago) - after all, he's been in high school since the 30s, presumably still is.

And where does Jughead figure into this? I really want to know....Because like Jeff, the Archie comics were a huge part of my 60s childhood (and I still love them, ads definitely included!)

FWIW, I'd have been all over Betty years ago... Archie's an idiot.

The word around Pop Tate’s is that the six-issue arc will imagine two separate scenarios in which young Archibald marries Veronica and Betty. Run Archie Run?

At the same time? Is this some Big Love riff in Riverdale?

Looks like I was right. It's an imaginary story, and there's also an imaginary story about him marrying Betty. Pssh. Archie just wants to string those girls along, the little weasel.

You know, for all of the superhero comics that I have read, and of all the times that I could get unspeakably angry at something as insignificant as a comic book, this reveal rubs me the wrong way in every way possible.

As a child, Archie comics were a huge part of making me into a comic book reader, and a big part of that was the relationship between the three. I always liked Betty more, simply because she was more down to earth, more independent, and generally more likable. Veronica always struck me as a screechy bitch who was raised on money and therefore expected the world to fall at her feet. She repulsed me, and I always wondered why Archie tried so hard to get her.

But, there it is, and there is how it's going to be, barring some sort of freak accident or one of them getting cold feet at the altar.

Clearly, he knocked her up.

I'm sorry. I'm a terrible person for THAT to be the first thing I thought of. But what kind of relationship can you have if it's so mysterious if the guy who proposes to you was going to ask you or another girl? Poor Veronica. At least she's rich and brunette.

Or maybe it's an Imaginary Story.
