Mary Marvel and Superboy

Mary Marvel and Superboy

I saw this on Michael May’s AdventureBlog and thought these two would make a great couple. I mean, if one wasn’t totally evil now and the other wasn’t recently returned from the dead and about to reunite with his other superhero girlfriend.

The piece is by Christina Sanders, who says that Mary Marvel would “do all the normal childhood things with Kon that he never got to do, like watch Disney movies and play board games and go to the zoo and amusement parks. Kon would pretend that they’re lame but secretly love it, and she would see right through him, and he would totally cry like a little girl at Lilo and Stitch.”

I LOVE this! Yeah, Mary and Kon would go so well together! I like the idea that they’d do things regular kids would do. Neat job!

I want to read that comic so bad.

It’s so nice to see fanart depicting a cute and wholesome Mary Marvel. These two make an adorable couple!

Kon-El missed out on playing “doctor” too.

I was the hugest Mary Marvel fan before Countdown. Now I can’t bear to even view any of the Marvel family after seeing how badly DC’s managed to rape their lore over the last couple of years. It even made me sell off my Power of Shazam collection.

That said, Christina captures both charactrers’ youthfulness extremely well here in a nice setting… kudos on a very well-done illustration.

When Superboy was being written by Joe Kelly I could have easily seen this pairing.

Wow, this is adorable.
