Send Us Your Shelf Porn!

rybandtshelfporn

Welcome to Send Us Your Shelf Porn. Our special guest this week is Joseph Rybandt, an Associate Editor for Dynamite Entertainment.

Before we get to Joesph’s shelves though, I want to offer up my usual pitch and remind anyone and everyone that we’re always on the lookout for new shelf porn submissions. If you’d like to see your graphic novel collection featured at this site, drop me a line at cmautnerATcomcastDOTnet.

With that out of the way, lets see what Mssr. Rybandt has to say about his collection …

Here’s some context:

The tall shelves are located in the “library” which is also the music room and the fish room. This room was used as a more formal “family room” in our house, but we obviously don’t use it as such.

The shorter shelves and the comics rack are located in my home office.

There’s no real rhyme or reason as to what’s on what shelf, although I always think of the downstairs shelves as under more scrutiny as more people will end up seeing those than they will in the upstairs office (which is why the upstairs shelves have more toys!

John Cassaday Covers

June 3, 2009 at 5:16 pm

No need to have that House of Mystery on it’s side like that. It looks there’s enough space with the other Showcase/Essential books. You probably couldn’t see the space with your dolls in the way.

I really like John Cassaday doing your Dynamite covers, but could you give him a break so he can finish Planetary. Thank you.

Is that a Blackhawk and Unknown Soldier figure that I see? OMG those shelves look sweet.

Strategically placed booze and comics. Yes, I could get comfortable in that room for sure.

Unfortunately the booze-to-comics ratio is tipped too far towards comics. I really will send you some photos some day showing you how to get this right.
