The Phantasmal Four

DeviantArt user genesischant reimagines the Fantastic Four as "a group that was formed by the eccentric and brilliant Sir Reid Richard after some sort of supernatural catastrophe that occurred at the Van Allen Estate in Britain. It appears that the noted spiritualist attempted via a seance ritual to journey beyond the earthly Veil. The goal was nothing less than discovering a means by which to conquer death itself." Genesischant is also offering to do commissions.

Is it me, or have The Fantastic Four been re-imagined more than any other superhero team, if not more than any other superhero concept, period? It's probably a testament to what perfect balance of fundamental forces Lee and Kirby came up with.

It's also evidence that, when I say this STILL looks so awesome I would read a limited series based on it, that's saying something.

I think Batman has 'em beat as far as number of alternative takes go.

Yeah, I was thinking "...but if anyone can claim more, it's Batman." :) Who is also a very, what's the word I'm looking for, primal? concept.
