If I want official information I’ll just navigate to the official website, not Twitter.

Twitter is great for breaking news and rumors. Tweets with confirmed information often point to a legit website, which obviously legitimize the Tweet.

Maybe you Comic Con official people should just hire/contract Comic_Con_SD to do your official tweets since you are all so swamped at the moment. As a real-deal employee, you could ensure that he always has the most up-to-date and accurate info! Deal-breaker.

He does make a claim about affiliation — the name on the account is “San Diego Comic Con,” not “San Diego Comic Con expert” or “Unofficial San Diego Comic Con Twitter Feed” or something that denotes he isn’t associated with them.

He’s also said he is an employee of Comic Con International, which Glanzer said isn’t true.

All true but since the article was published now it seems a little outdated. And the account pissing off guests? I don’t think so. If it’s not connected to the con it can’t leak information!

…there wouldn’t be any controversy or confusion, and SD_Comic_Con wouldn’t have as many followers as quickly…. but as the saying goes “There is no such thing as bad publicity”.

When SD_Comic_Con first appeared the bio on the account described itself as “the Official Comic Con” twitter account. That’s where this all stems from. Had the bio read what it is currently, “A San Diego Comic Con expert makes the twitter that the Con should make!”, then there wouldn’t be any controversy.

I don’t see what the big deal is since most of sd_comic_con ‘s info is just reprinted from other sources like celeb twitters, ign, and various comic news sites! He tells when something is a rumor and makes no claims about affiliation!
