Marvel and Japanese animation studio Madhouse have unveiled mind-blowing teaser trailers for Iron Man and Wolverine, the first of four planned anime series.

Okay, Wolverine looks just pretty good; Iron Man is mind-blowing. You really shouldn’t wait: Skip to the end of this post and watch them now.

It was revealed yesterday at the “Marvel Animation” panel that Blade and X-Men will be the next projects in the series, which is expected to debut on Japan’s Animex channel in spring 2010. I’ve not seen word yet as to when the shows will air elsewhere.

Written by Warren Ellis, Iron Man is set in Tokyo, and deals with a culture clash and the history of weapon design. Wolverine, meanwhile, is rooted in the 1982 miniseries by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller.

Now go watch those trailers. Again and again:

If for some reason the trailers don’t load, they can be viewed here and here at Comic Book Resources.

The Iron Man Anime is already 1000′s of times better than the Chris Yost “Iron Man Armored Adventures” (My god what a piece of crap that turned out to be).

uh, the “Wolverine” anime is just generic/typical Japanese Anime Martial Arts stuff.

Does anyone know that the other two Marvel Anime projects are?

While I wasn’t blown away by these trailers, I do think they look pretty good and I will definitely be check all of the Marvel anime series out.

The other 2 Marvel anime projects are Blade and X-Men.

Yes, that’s in the post.

Where’s Wolverine? I don’t see no Wolverine in that second clip, I see some character with the world’s worst mullet and Wolverine’s CLAWS, but he’s apparently tall, skinny and does not have sideburns.

Wolverine, short, hairy, sideburns, this guy, none of those things.

He also didn’t say “Bub”. Wolverine always says “bub.”

Blade might work for this, and Iron Man looks okay, but this Wolverine thing takes all the characteristics of Wolverine and chucks them for some tall Asian dude with a painful mullet and Wolverine’s claws.
