I couldn't imagine sitting here at the desk and 'reading'a comic, so that would include Manga stuff. I just don't see the joy in it.

I find it difficult to understand why Tokyopop isn't willing to give ALL of these creators their rights back.

Tokyopop freely admits they aren't making money on these series, and in some cases are even losing money. It just seems like they're stretched really thin right now....the answer to half of the logistical questions in this interview (i.e. iPhone, print on demand, etc) is some variation of "we're looking into it." If they just let the creators deal with that kind of thing themselves, they could focus on their foreign series, which are their real money makers.

Will the Steady Beat manga be released via this method?

And if Steady Beat will not be on that list, will TP release the rights to the creator so she can self publish?

Good to know they're finally putting out the rest of Pantheon High seeing as the actual artwork has been done for well over a year. I'm really dismayed that such a fun series is seen as such a low priority by the publisher, though. If I’m reading this properly, we won’t actually be getting it online until at least 2010 and we’ll have to wait longer for a print edition of volume three if we get one at all.
