I was surprised how many people didn't get the Little Nemo vibe from Pope's Strange Adventures right off the bat. I thought it was pretty upfront about it. I didn't see the Ditko as much, I kind of just attributed that to Pope, but I can definitely see where he was coming from with that. The Jung bit, now that is interesting. That dream sequence with the giant dog, and then the dog statues showing up on Rann... interesting stuff indeed.

My reading this week was No Hero #7, Transmetropolitan vol. 1-3, and FreakAngels vol. 1 & 2. Though it seems I keep coming back and picking up my FreakAngel books every two or three weeks. Paul Duffield's art is fantastic, and this might be Warren's next big transhumanist work, possibly even surpassing Transmetropolitan as his "greatest work."

Speaking of which, I may just go reread FreakAngels again!

Ciao!

My reading this week: Mr. Stuffins by Andrew Cosby, Johanna Stokes, and Axel Medellin Machain: fun high-concept stuff, a toy teddy bear becomes a James Bond-type agent thanks to some illicit A.I. Hatter M, Volumes One and Two by Frank Beddor, Ben Templesmith (Vol. 1), Liz Cavalier and Sami Makkonen (Vol. 2): these are companion gns to the prose novel series begun in The Looking Glass Wars by Beddor. Proof Book 3: Thunderbirds are Go! by Alexander Grecian and Riley Rossmo - I love the idea of a heroic Bigfoot! Timothy and the Transgalactic Towel by Mike Bullock and Michael Metcalf: cute story for kids, with a message about father/child relationships - it will work well in my school.

Waiting for me: Underground #1. And about 3 2-foot-high stacks of gns, manga, and comics issues. Yikes!
