No worries, happens to the best of us.

As for this whole shebang, I've pretty much decided that Big Apple will have no impact on my 2010 convention schedule. Even if NYCC does not extend space to podcasters this year and Big Apple offers free tables, I'd happily roam the floors of NYCC with a portable recorder instead. After all, what's the point of attending a convention as press when there's no news to break? Well, other than the news breaking 20 blocks away, that is.

Ian: How the heck did I mix that up? I think it was from linking to Jeff Suter's twitter account, @suterman. I got my -mans confused. I'll fix it. Thanks!

"it's not difficult to anticipate fan reaction"

I agree with this, so I thought I would pitch in by backing up your statement. I go to comic conventions because I love comics. If there are two shows the same weekend and one is about comics while the other uses the "comic con" title as a way to promote a show that is "no longer defined as being principally, or indeed at all, to do with comics" I know which one I will pick. I don't have any interest in a "pop media show" because I get that every day; it's called "the internet". I wonder how many years it will be before comics are pushed out of "comic cons" completely and fans have to start running their own underground comic conventions like they used to way back when these started in order to actually buy, read, trade and talk about comics with each other?

In other words, get lost, Wizard. We already have enough people in the business who view comics as nothing more than a stepping stone to other entertainment opportunities.
