Can't imagine that the comic adaptation would be a good way to be exposed to it. The movie itself is cheesy fun, with some great scene chewing from Ron Pearlman. Evens leaves the door open for a bit of sequal possibility. The creators were definitely channelling some good Hammer movie vibes.
