I used to spend at least half my daily online time in the Newsarama forums. Now, I can’t even be bothered to look at the main page. Sad.

I haven’t been to Newsarama since I got a virus from one of their pages about a month ago. I verified that other people around here also had problems with that same virus from their pages.

I assume it has been fixed since then, but I can’t afford all of the time to clean up my computer system…. (It took 2 virus removal products to resolve.)

Since the Newsarama buyout and the CBR upgrade, the two sites have definitely switched places of #1 and #2 the CBR on top.

I don’t visit Newsarama much any more due to the slow load time on all their pages. Between all the animated banner ads, video players and the Imaginova toolbar at the top of every page it takes nearly 10 – 15 seconds for each page to load. I know its not my system or connection because I have no problems with other similar sites. Combine that with the decline in quality content and articles that aren’t well written (spelling and grammatical errors abound) and it went from one of the 2 comic book sites I visited every day (CBR being the other) to a site I click if I’m really bored with everything else on the ‘net.

I hope the new owners do something positive with the site and bring back some of the glory from days of old.

Hopefully this will make Newsarama less sucky. I miss the days of its awesomeness.
