Invincible Iron Man was a satisfying read this week. While I might have liked a more definitive conclusion, it's to Fraction's credit that he can still make me geek out for the last panel at a time when I wouldn't read an Avengers book for free. Larroca has really reined in his photo-realism/reference over the life of this book, too.

Sugarshock read a lot better for me in print than online - I guess I'm old-fashioned, but this and Freakangels prove that holding it in my hands has a huge impact on my enjoyment of the work. I'm anxious to at least give the Eisner stuff that Mr Campbell mentions above a look-see regardless.

Chew continues to be worth supporting. The twists aren't terribly surprising, but the whole thing is presented with such verve that I can't help but smile while reading it (except when it grosses me out).

I read the Lady Bullseye trade of Brubaker & Lark's Daredevil run this week too, and I'm not sure why but I sure was underwhelmed by it. I guess it's partly because Matt's such a whiney bastich and partly because it doesn't really tell a complete story. - the latter being more of the fault of the trade than the creators' work, I suppose.

While reading Azreal #1 I couldn't help but wonder if this was book wriiten by an author with ADD. Saying it is a quick paced issue is a huge understatement!

A big issue to hit the stands this week was Invincible Iron Man #19 as the "World's Most Wanted" arc ended. While I was hoping for a bigger bang at the end (like Osborn royally kicking Stark's arse) , I'm totally on board with the direction the way it went.

The Stuff of Legend finished off its first 2 issue arc. For those who have missed it the first time around, you may want to get a hold of this bizarre yet incredibly entertaining book.

I read the newest volume of Scalped (High Lonesome) today, and it was just as good as usual, Jason Aaron is just so goddamned good. In this volume 5 seemingly separate one-issue stories come together to make a whole, and while this seems to be more of a transition arc, there was a lot of stuff here, the back-story of Agent Nitz, we finally learn what actually happened that night in 1975, and Dash Bad Horse's drug use finally begins to catch up to him.

Wonderful stuff.
