Hitman Monkey is kind of an obvious name, but I guess with a character like this they’re not really going for subtlety. Although his nickname should totally be The Macabre Macaque, because it’s just to awesome to pass up.

How about “monkey” and “ape” aren’t interchangable? Gunmonkey would work, but is awful. Assassin Ape wouldn’t work at all, since the primate in question is a monkey.

I just thought of something, what if the monkey is a distraction? What if we’re not seeing the entire picture here?

This image reminds me of Marvel’s early solicits of Dark Reign, The List : X-Men. It was just Namor on a black background but when Utopia was over we saw the whole thing.

So with this in mind, what if Marvel’s “hottest new character” is new female character with a trigger happy monkey sidekick? And who better to present this babe than Frank Cho!
