The main storyline in the first volume (focusing on the one man) seemed more like a "testing the waters" type of story (perhaps to see how it would do in whatever mag its published in). The incomplete story about the shogun that picks up at the end of the volume then seemed to be the start of a more primary plot/storyline. I'll wait for the review of v.2 before I buy it.
