If this show doesn’t have a J Jonah Jameson song about how much he hates Spider-Man then it will have failed on every level possible.

I dunno… He looks like a total wuss to me. A wuss who’s a heroin addict. I’m not saying he is, just that he looks that way in the picture. I gotta agree with Simon, and Julian. Train wreck… Fiasco.. Whatever.

I could be wrong, but the whole thing just seems crazy. U2, writing songs for a Broadway musical. About Spider-Man. Given the enormous costs and the problems/delays already, I don’t see how this thing can over hope to even make its money back.

Then again, I never thought they’d get this far.

Simon, I think you’re missing the point. This is a train wreck that promises to move beyond mere failure and into the realm of fiasco. People will pay to see a fiasco.

Train wreck in the making. It will have to get amazing word of mouth to have any chance to break even. And I just don’t see it happening, especially since U2 has never written for Broadway and since Taymor is a one hit wonder whose visions usually exceeds any actual skill for creating a story.

The very first time I heard about this musical, I thought it was a joke. But, when you think about it, it might actually work. Carney looks about right for the part though I’m surprised they got someone as high profile as Rachel Evan Wood to play Mary Jane.
