Straight for the art | Mock Inglourious Basterds comics
These have been making the rounds the last couple of days … CHUD posts a series of faux Inglourious Basterds comic book covers they found on Harry Knowles’ Twitter feed that look like they were created in the 1970s. Cool stuff; go check out the rest of them.
Update: The covers were created by Martin Duhovic.

These looked very cool and all, but I was struck when I saw them early this week by the fact that Knowles didn’t cite the actual artist on the covers at all but instead put them up with some mock “Lost Kirby work” goofiness. I mean, yeah…I get the gag and all, but seeing as no one was really going to be fooled by it, wouldn’t it just have been easier o credit the guy who actually drew these? I see there’s a sig on all the pieces, but I’ve been unable to make it out by zooming in. I hope someone figures out who drew them and give guy proper credit. They’re pretty perfect homages.

They’re by Martin Duhovic, apparently.

Wow, did that mediocre movie warrant all that effort?
