Over on CBR you can watch the first trailer for Jon Favreau’s Iron Man 2. Robert Downey Jr. is brash, Mickey Rourke is Russian, Don Cheadle is War Machine, Gwyneth Paltrow makes out with an Iron Man helmet, Scarlet Johansson and Gary Shandling are both gorgeous…what are you waiting for?

Looks great, except for ScarJo. The Iron Man franchise is populated with actual grownups, and his gal’s 10 years too young.

I never thought I’d read the words “Gary Shandling” and “gorgeous” in the same sentence.
Anyhow, while I loved him as Larry Sanders (Hey now! I wish to hell they’d put all the seasons of that show on DVD!), Shandling’s appearance in the trailer takes me right out of the moment. Shandling just plays the same part in everything he does: himself.
