Saturday passes sell out for Comic-Con 2010
If you’ve put off nailing down plans for Comic-Con International, prepare to kick yourself: Saturday memberships are gone.
Single-day passes went on sale just three weeks ago.
For a quick, and jolting, comparison, Saturday passes for last year’s convention didn’t sell out until April 2009. It seems par for the course, though, considering that four-day memberships for 2010 sold out during the first week of November.
According to the color-coded bars on the Comic-Con website, Friday passes may not be long for this world; they’re at 68 percent as of this morning. Last year they were gone by April 20.
Comic-Con International kicks off on July 21 in San Diego with a (sold-out) preview night, and runs through July 25.

Why did this happen? Did passes go on sale earlier than they did in previous years?

They were actually sold out a few days after going on sale the week before Christmas. We missed the 4-day passes and were going to get individual days when they went on sale but with the holiday craziness we missed them. So we decided not to go this year. Its too much of a hassle anyway what with the crowds and lines and general pain in the ass of it all. All the panels we like to hit end up online in either recaps or video and there really isn’t anything interesting on the floor worth braving that crowd for anymore.

Went for 4-days last year, it was too much! but I knew I couldn’t stop going to Comic Con all together so only going Thursday and Friday next year.
If last year was any indication thats when all the good panels will be anyway.
