Beechen, Benjamin team for Batman Beyond miniseries
As mentioned at the Emerald City Comicon this weekend, DC is bringing Batman Beyond back to comics. Today on the Source, DC released a few more details and the cover to the first issue. The six-issue miniseries will be written by Adam Beechen and drawn by Ryan Benjamin.
“The dark future of the legendary animated series comes to the DCU in a six-issue miniseries, as Terry McGinniss, Bruce Wayne’s young successor as Batman, faces his deadliest foe yet — a mystery murderer from the Dark Knight’s past!” Beechen said. “Old faces return, new allies and enemies step into the light, and the partnership between Terry and Bruce — not to mention Terry and Bruce themselves — might not survive!”

I can’t wait! I wish Warner Bros. hadn’t ditched the cartoon series. It was quite good. I’m a huge fan of the Batman Beyond mythos and I’m looking forward to this mini series. I’m hoping it receives enough attention to warrant an ongoing.

Isn’t Beechen the guy that ran the Cassandra Cain Batgirl into the ground?

Personally, I think he looks a little too big and the mask looks a lot like the regular Batman mask with something covering the mouth. I still am hoping it’s good enough to start a full series and it would be really cool if they made an animated movie.

Excellent. I absolutely love Batman Beyond. This will be the first Bat book I’ve bought in ages.

@ Josh B: I might try this out, and if it I do it’ll be my first Bat-book in at least a couple of years (not counting the Joker GN) too… I said I wouldn’t come back to Batman until Bruce returned, and in an offbeat way that’s exactly what’s happening.

Yes, Joe. Now he’ll do it again with Terry McGuiness.
