Gaga, ooh la la: More “Telephone”-inspired Lady Gaga/Beyoncé art
From deviantART to The New Yorker, artists and cartoonists keep dialing G for Gaga. In the wake of Jonas Åkerlund’s epic video for Gaga & Beyoncé’s duet “Telephone” a bumper crop of artistic tributes has blossomed. We’ve already rounded up a few early highlights; consider this the remix.
Up top is what artist Stan Chow says he would have done if he’d been asked to draw the “Telephone” sleeve design. (via Fuck Yeah, Lady Gaga)
Next up, this pencilled piece by Jessica Bentley makes me wonder what someone like C.F. or Blaise Larmee might do with Lady G as a model. Here’s the colored version, but I prefer the pencils. (via Niamhb)
Cartoonist Yamino, whose earlier salute to the video earned praise from Gaga herself, opted to thank the pop star the best way she knows how (via Hell Yeah, Beyoncé):
She also created what I hope will be the villain for the next Hellboy miniseries, Lady Naga:
Finally, no less august an institution than The New Yorker has immortalized Lady G in a cartoon by David Sipress (via Alex Segura):
Aliens dress like her! Because she’s weird! Get it? Oh well, they can’t all be winners.

I’m not sure I understand all the Lady Ga Ga hype. I appear to be missing why she is anything beyond strange looking.

This is fantastic! More Gaga is always good.
Just wanted to add to this, Michael DeForge and I are editing a Lady Gaga fanzine titled PRISON FOR BITCHES, which will be debuting at TCAF in May. The book features articles, fan art, lists, paper dolls(?) and over 35 contributors, including: Johnny Ryan, Michael Kupperman, Angie Wang, Jon Vermilyea, Raymond Sohn, Elio, Chris Kuzma, Mickey Zacchilli, Derek Yu, Lisa Hanawalt, Lamar Abrams, Lauren Albert and others!
We’ll be selling it online after TCAF as well

Really? No links to the DeviantArt posts themselves? That would give the artists a bit more credit.

Ian, the post is full of deviantART links to the relevant posts. I’m not sure what you’re talking about.
