Make Mine MoCCA: Big pictures edition
Indy comics publisher Drawn & Quarterly is bringing Adrian Tomine, Gabrielle Bell, R. Sikoryak and James Sturm to MoCCA, and all four will be doing panels and signings at the D&Q booth; check the publisher’s blog for the schedule.
Not to be outdone, Pantheon is also bringing in a crowd of creators, including Dash Shaw, David Mazzucchelli, Kim Deitch and Josh Neufeld.
Aya Rothwell will be at the Boston Comics Roundtable with copies of Mark and the Aliens and the sequel, Mark and the Gillys, Book 1. Aya writes, “I will also have other minicomics, such as Kattan the Spider, Bored Angel and How the Trendy Dog went to Salem, MA and Became Ichabod Crane. No planned parties, but I will have festive Easter egg-colored M&M’s in a bowl at my table, which you can snack on.”
Sparkplug Comics creators Austin English, Clara Johansson and Eroyn Franklin will be at table G9 with a bunch of new books and will be premiering Elijah Brubaker’s Reich #7 and Robert Sergel’s Eschew #2.
And finally, Matt Madden and Jessica Abel will debut their latest collaboration, their three-week-old son Jasper, at MoCCA, as well as collecting submissions for the Best American Comics series. You are most likely to find them at the School for Visual Arts booth, #21/22.
