Batmen and Robin

Batmen and Robin

The Guinness World Record for the most people wearing superhero costumes in one place was shattered Saturday, and it wasn’t at the San Diego Comic-Con. According to the Australian, 1,245 people dressed as Superman, the Hulk and plenty of other superheroes gathered in Federation Square in Melbourne, Australia, breaking the record of 1,091 previously set in the United Kingdom. You can see a gallery of photos from the event here.

This makes me proud to be an Aussie!

That’s goddamn adorable.

feel sorry for the kid whose mom dressed him up as robin. He’ll probably develop a serious inferiority complex later in life.

Hey, at least it’s Tim Drake Robin!

The Dick Grayson tights would have been devastating….

Fantastic! very amusing photo!

Aw c’mon. That’s the cutest little Robin, I ever did see. I was also rather impressed by the Power Girl Costume, which surprises the heck out of me.

I was there! Went as Clark Kent, which was a rare choice but got a few great reactions when I pulled my shirt open to reveal the S-shield. It was a great event with fantastic atmosphere. The live Justice League show was very family-friendly and the Batman: The Brave And The Bold episode shown on the big screen had a wonderfully appropriate theme of finding the power within and being your own hero. All in all it was a great day.

Must of missed the memo about this event. Melbourne’s not too far away from the Gold Coast to jet down and enjoy something like this. Hopefully this will be an annual or regular event.
