If you only watch one trailer for Edgar Wright’s adaptation of Bryan Lee O’Malley’s Scott Pilgrim series, make it this one. If the previous trailers had a face, this one would punch it. It would punch the previous trailers in the face.
This one has it all: the villains, the set-up, the rock stuff, the videogame stuff, the 20something stuff, O’Malley’s sense of humor, the action stuff…well played.
I have to echo the “Brandon Routh was very funny” comments. I have never had a doubt this would be a faithful and awesome adaptation, but this trailer was just great.
Okay. This is the first one that makes me think that Michael Cera might actually make Scott a different character than, you know, every other performance that he’s ever given. Don’ get me wrong, I enjoy his schtick, but it’s rarely shown me the cocky dick-ish-ness that is central the character and necessary for his arc.
Everything else has and continues to look great. Well played.

How hard would it punch the other trailers in the face?

Scott Pilgrim trailer wins the party
(I was skeptical but this looks like they pretty much got it as much as anybody could)

Sean T. Collins, you must define “the 20something stuff.”
And yeah, Brandon Routh is quite funny.
