AMC reveals The Walking Dead motion comic

This afternoon AMC debuted a motion-comic adaptation of The Walking Dead — or at least the first half of the first issue. Don’t get too excited, though, because it looks like this is simply a teaser for the live-action series, which debuts in October, rather than a full-blown push into motion comics. But I could be wrong.

Whatever it is, the eight-minute video features Juice Films animation of art by Tony Moore, and the voice of Phil LaMarr (Futurama, Justice League Unlimited). So, y’know, good stuff all around.

Comic-Con attendees will get a double dose of The Walking Dead with Thursday’s Robert Kirkman panel (4 p.m. in Room 4 p.m.) and Friday’s AMC panel (11:30 a.m. in Room 6BCF).

Tony Moore’s artwork looks awesome animated…

Watch as others don’t report it as Moore’s artwork.

“Watch as others don’t report it as Moore’s artwork.”

I actually figured it was the other way around and the general audience think Tony Moore is still on the book, even though he left after the first arc to do Fear Agent and Marvel work, while Charlie Adlard has been doing WD ever since.

There are probably still people out there that think Stan Lee writes Amazing Spider-man to this day.

Really well produced motion comic. Even the 3D head turns came off well, instead of distorted like in other motion comics. Nice to AMC is really backing this show as the next huge cbale series.

As good as this looks (mostly due to Tony’s artwork), why even call it a motion comic? It’s an animation made from comic artwork (granted, that doesn’t roll off the tongue), but it doesn’t preserve the essence of comics in that it’s not sequential art, moments strung together into a whole.

Have to say it looks really good, though.

Great, loving it.
Cant wait for the series to come out in October. Been reading Walking Dead since issue 1.
…And Moore doesnt do the art for WD anymore.

Tony Moore should never have left the walking dead — his art is superior to Charlie Adlard (Charlie has gotten better but I still like TM better).

I believe Tony Moore still often does covers for Walking Dead.

I had no idea a TV series was coming but this is something I’ll watch for sure assuming they don’t screw it up.

So SICK TO DEATH of these artificial viewing barriers. IT’S THE INTERNET FFS!

Finally they are making a live action show of the walking dead i have every comic that come out so far OwO.
