Helmets for Thor, Loki, and Odin? Sure. Captain America’s shield (see below)? Stands to reason. After all, these are key props from Marvel’s next two potential blockbuster movies, Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger. But at Marvel’s booth at the San Diego Comic-Con today, the Infinity Gauntlet was reavealed in all its giant-sized glory. And now, let the speculation commence …

All I can say is AWESOME. These films are looking great.

I thought the gauntlet was left-handed. Also, there is nothing special about the gauntlet; it’s just Thanos’ hand costume. The gems do all the real work.

They did show the cosmic cube in the Captain America footage. Thanos would be an amazing bag guy for the Avengers movie.

either plans are for thanos to pop uo soon in a marvel movie thus the infinity gauntlet being shown or marvel is planning if avengers is a hit to do an infinity gauntlet movie or some other project. since Lokie is suppose to be the villain for avengers since the film is the origin of the team. marvel will reveal why they have a movie prop version of the scariest weapon in the marvel universe. thanos poping up in a movie or maybe an adam warlock film is in the works?

I bet thanos is the bad guy in the avengers. If Loki is the villain in Thor, and he is, then he is probably NOT the bad guy in the avengers. Why would they need to assemble the avengers to beat some one Thor beat solo 2 movies before. But Thanos could be a larg enough threat to require everyones attention. Maybe the teaser at the end of Thor will be Loki stealing the gauntlet, minus gems, and then a pissed off Thanos attacks earth to get it back. Awesome lead in to Avengers.

looking at how much Marvel are thrusting both the gems and Thanos himself into the limelight lately in both adult & kid-targeted media, I totally agree that we could very well see a gem-related story in one of the upcoming Marvel movies down the road. Infinity Gauntlet certainly was one of the better-executed & fondly remembered Marvel event miniseries of the 1990s.

Recent stuff:
– that Thanos Imperative series by DnA
– hardcover Marvel Premiere Classic reprints of The Rebirth Of Thanos / Infinity Gauntlet
– an upcoming more-comical miniseries retelling of the I.G. story
– Pet Avengers and that Marvel Super Squad childrens’ show/comic

Let the Thanos casting rumors commence! (I vote for Brian Blessed.)
