Send Us Your Shelf Porn!

IMGP3214

Welcome once again to Send Us Your Shelf Porn, the column that allows you to show off your shelves. Today’s Shelf Porn comes from Hugues Charron, who shares his collection of poster, action figures and other fun stuff.

“The Flash painting was done by my good friend Todd Lauzon, who knew how much I liked the Flash and Marvel Zombies, and decided to make me a zombie Flash airbrush painting,” he said. “The Clerks action figures are the full Chasing Amy set.”

If you’d like to share your Shelf Porn with the world — or at least our viewing audience — send your write-up and pictures to jkparkin@yahoo.com. And now on to the pictures …

Um, where’s the shelves? And the books? I know it’s the big weekend in fanboydom, but this is my least favorite entries of one of my favorite things on the whole internet, and they have boobs on that thing if you didn’t know that yet.

That smy stuff , HDO you’re a jerk .
I didnt put my book collection cause honestly no one cares to see which books i have.
So if you prefer i can take all my action figures and put them on shelves and then take new pictures.
Where is your entry HDO so i can go complain about it ?

Good on you hughes. I for one enjoyed your collection. Particularly the art. I also agree with you for I don’t always want to see a shelf of just books.

Everybody lighten up, please…. No need to call names out, and it is nice to see something different.

In fact, I’m curious about the last picture: is that a Johnny Cash model with the guitar? (If not, who is it?)

And I love the Flash figurines and collection! Fun stuff!

I hate people who buy toys and leave them in the packages. They simply…do not make sense to me. It’s like having a shelf full of books you haven’t read. A box of comics you haven’t read. A bunch of DVDs you never watched.

The whole point of a toy is the tactile nature of it. Leaving it in the package…so much stupid.

I love the Flash. This makes me feel like I should have been buying all his figures they look cool all together. BUT WHERE IS THE SUPER POWERS FIGURE?!??!?!?!

Sorry for name calling.

yes it’s a Johnny Cash figurine and the art is form a tattooer named bob tyrell.

Not really in to action figures, but I do like the look of that flash wall, and the Alex Ross Jay Garrick Picture.

Whoa, serious manchildisms going on in here.

@DrunkJack “I hate people who buy toys and leave them in the packages.”

Gee, then I guess you’d HATE me then, cause you see I also have many unopened toy packages on display at my home.

Then again, I’m also a professional artist/designer, specifically a toy package designer. When planning a design, especially one that has a blister or window where you can see the toy/product, you need to keep in mind what it will look like with the graphics all around it. Should it stand out? Should it recede? Should it blend in with all other graphics.

Yeah, the toy inside IS the reason why a package is bought, but I’d like to think that the package design helps.

Alright, Hughes, let me clarify a few things.
A: I am a jerk; you’re right.
B. I effing love comics, so yes, I would like to see what books you have read. I love shelf porn. Hit the shelf porn tag underneath the man in black. I think that most entries include books and shelves. I like to see people’s collections. I like to see how people with massive collections have managed to integrate it into their homes. I get ideas for my own shelves. Storage of comics isn’t always easy. My favorites are from March 17th and 10th. The one from the 17th is a shelf in a class room. I’m a teacher with a collection of trades and floppies in my classroom, and my goal is to have the best comic collection in the state. I like the one from the 10th because it shows a collection in the aftermath of an earthquake. That one hits home because I lost most of my collection in 2004 thanks to Hurricane Ivan. That was also when I stopped using mylar bags. They didn’t help – not that I truly thought they would.
C.Yep, I’d rather see your figures on the shelves with the books. Especially if they were freed from their blister packs.
D. I do hope to have an entry on here one day, but right now, I don’t think that my collection would look good on here. I still mostly buy new issues, so those go in a box in the closet – doesn’t make for a good picture. I took all of my age appropriate stuff to school, so my shelf at home has shrunk. As for paraphernalia, I’ve got one Mazzuchelli Batman sketch, a Batman and Robin piggy bank set from the 60′s, and some old silver age issues in fair condition that look cool, framed and hanging on the wall. Check in each week and be the first to post about my collection on that fated day.

I don’t think I was complaining about what was in your collection, as much as what wasn’t in it. It just wasn’t what I expect to see on the site. Sorry if my comment sullied your experience at having your collection posted. Enough blabbering. I’m waiting for SDCC announcements of books that I will read before shelving.

The guy likes the Flash, so his collection is automatically great ;)

Some neato stuff here though, I especially like the Kingdom Come Flash figurine you have…

I also am not a fan of keeping toys in the package. It just makes the display look too much like a retail display, in my opinion. To each his own, though. I guess it makes displaying them easier, eliminates the need for shelving
