Comics creator Chris Ware provides the cover for Presspop’s upcoming Tank Tankuro: Perwar Works, which collects Gajo Sakamoto’s pre-World War II robot manga.
I had always thought of manga being directly tied to WWII and Tezuka. I never realized there was manga being produced before WWII. Definitely going to pick this one up.
Isn’t it Tanku Tankuro, not Tank Tankuro? It seems like it was misspelled in the original press release and now every other source is repeating the mistake? Either that or Presspop changed the name to anglicize it more.
