The music is actually Mars: the Bringer of War for Gustav Holt’s The Planets. It is almost 100 years old.

I liked this teaser a lot and hope to see more like it. Also, the music sounded a lot like the airship theme from Super Mario Bros. 3! (:))

@Javier–Yep, it’s quite a famous piece in classic music. If anything, Danny Elfman is the composer who copied Gustav Holt

Only slightly less epic then the Venture Brother’s use of the same music -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0sDt7OwfFc

It is Mars the Bringer of War by Holst, yes, from the Symphony of the Planets. Holst is Hans Zimmer’s main inspiration, as you can see listeniing to his OSTs, specially the one for Gladiator, IMHO.
Glad you guys have liked it! One more each day this week, noon EST, until friday!

Hmmm I may get this. I like the Stormwatch/Authority characters and it’ll be cool to see them interact with everyone else.

I’m still reeling from the fact that the great and wise Kevin Melrose does not recognize one of the most overused pieces of classical music evah.
Does anyone listen to Classical music any more?

If this new series will become a hit, please DC/Jim Lee, re-print the ABSOLUTE AUTHORITY Vol. 1 or make an Absolute edition of the earlier Stormwatch series!

Yeah I don’t see this doing any better than the “World’s end” era attempt.

Why is called Stormwatch instead of the Authority ? That’s my only gripe really.
