Trailer takes flight for DC’s Birds of Prey #1

David Macho wraps up a week of DC Comics-sanctioned trailers with a sneak peek at Birds of Prey #1, which relaunches the long-running title under the new creative team of Duane Swierczynski and Jesus Saiz.

One is wanted for a murder she didn’t commit. The other is on the run because she knows too much. They are Dinah Laurel Lance and Ev Crawford – a.k.a. Black Canary and Starling – and together, as Gotham City’s covert ops team, they’re taking down the villains other heroes can’t touch. But now they’ve attracted the attention of a grizzled newspaper reporter who wants to expose them, as well as a creepy, chameleon-like strike team that’s out to kill them.

Birds of Prey #1 goes on sale Sept. 21.

This is the last of them, right?

Wow that trailer sucks don;t it

Well to be honest, most if not all of the trailers are made by the artists themselves. So high quality isn’t guaranteed but it’s not bad. This one was the worst though.. lol.

Was that supposed to generate interest in this book?
Because it did nothing of the sort.

WOW! That sucked. Seriously, you’d think that DC would put some more muscle behind these and certainly not rely on the artists themselves to do the work. That shouldn’t be their job?! I don’t follow BoP so it didn’t make ANY sense to me but I thought the whole reboots were wiping the slate clean and starting over anyways. As someone new to this book the trailer did nothing to gain my interest or even think about picking it up. The only reason I might check it out is I dig on Canary. Missed opportunity DC!

Sorry. It just doesn’t seem to have the ZING! that Dixon’s and Simone’s Birds did. I’m excited for a lot of these new 52, but as a fan of the previous BoP, I’m not a bit excited by this one. After the prominence Black Canary has had the past several years, this seems like she’s being put back on the B-list.

I try not to be negative, but I have to agree with the crowd. Barbara Gordon was a HUGE reason I picked the book up in the first place. I didn’t really know much about the Black Canary before, I grew to like her a lot, but probably not enough to make me pick this up. Pass, but good luck guys.

I will just be a sheep too, and follow what everyone is saying and say this trailer sucks and did nothing to generate my interest in the coming new BOP, I just recently decided to take a look at BOP after I heard they were starting afresh and thought that this would be a good starting point. I decided to pick this book, after watching Black Canary on Smallville since her intro in season 7, and since then she has been one of my favourite characters, with the controversy coming out of DCnU about Oracle/\batgirl I quickly got to know who she is and can really see that she was an awesome character, I really was looking foward to her being in BOP. I keep being disappointed with the spoilers that are being released about this book, the new Canary costume doesnt look half as bad as it did when it was first shown, but still its not great, starling looks like an interesting addition, the others not so much. This title is still on my radar and hope to pick it up, but who knows on the day, something else could catch my eye.

Trailer was kinda lame, but I am still looking forward to the book!
It has a great writer, art looks really good and the team seem interesting (Poison Ivy and Black Canary on the same team :D)

I have not watched any trailers. I don’t need or want trailers for stuff that I read.

That being said; I will be reading BOP.

Also… Katana’s new look is really… really bad

We still love you, Macho.

Armored dude looks like a ripoff of the Ninja/Frank Jaegger from Metal Gear Solid.
