DC to collect September’s ‘zero’ issues into one giant omnibus
Last year DC Comics collected all the first issues of the New 52 into one big honkin’ omnibus, which retailed for $150–a little less than what it would cost to buy all 52 first issues if you paid full price.
Apparently it must have done well for DC, or at least well enough, because they announced today on their Source blog that they plan to release a similar collection of all the “zero” issues coming out in September. DC Comics The New 52 Zero will collect all 55 zero issues into “a massive 1,328-page deluxe hardcover compilation.” Like its predecessor, it looks like it’ll cost $150 retail as well. It’s due out Dec. 12.

Why can’t they split these into two books in one slipcase. Do you know how hard it is to read a book this big while sitting on the toilet? I have the DC 52 #1s and that is one heavy book, especially when trying to drag it around a con and get it signed.

LOVE it. Going on my XMas wish list for sure.
The first volume was a treat, and I was hoping they’d do something like this for the new Zero month volumes too.
On a shelf of hardcover trades, this may serve as a nice “secret origin” volume to the entire new DCU all at once!

What— there’s gonna be a companion #0 collection to the DC New 52 hardcover of those first issues??

Eladio, there’s only 55. JLI is not getting a zero issue, unlike the other cancelled books.
I’ll probably be getting this omnibus. I just wish DC Universe Presents #0 had something for Static and Men of War to make it more complete.

God how I hate that New 52 Superman armor. No wonder Grant Morrison still has him in jeans, cape and a t-shirt! And since when is Batman’s utility belt composed of a ring of gold spray-painted i-Phones?
