The nominations have been announced for the Will Eisner Spirit of Retailing Awards The award will go to “an individual retailer who has done an outstanding job of supporting the comic art medium both in the community and within the industry at large.” Here’s the list:

The timetable is tight: The judges meet on July 8 to pick the recipient, who will be honored at the Eisner Awards ceremony on July 13.

Green Brain is fantastic! Congrats!

Go Shazam! Comics…..Vamos Shazam!!!!

Besides being a great shop run by some really cool people, Acme Comics has done a lot to reach out to the community to promote comics and literacy. And this is the shop that led the successful effort to have the Greensboro NC city council name the city “Comic Book USA” for May 5th. Acme has made the list for many years. I really hope that Acme Comics gets the big prize this year.

I agree with Chap, Joe give us a name…

There needs to be more awards and recognition for the good comic book retailers, not just in the US, but worldwide.

Perhaps CBR or Newsarama could do something.
