Vaughan & Chiang's "Paper Girls" Builds a Familiar Yet Disconcerting World
In March there will be two great-sounding new gallery shows focusing on comics and comic art, both on the West Coast, but about 1,000 miles apart for anyone fancying a road trip along Highway 101. At the Secret Headquarters comic shop in Los Angeles, there’ll be “Lazer Lips and Glass Helmets,” featuring the retro-futuristic art of Toby Cypress and Ming Doyle, while at East Pike Street in Seattle, the Ltd. art gallery will be running “Mint Condition #2,” the now-annual show timed to coincide with the Emerald City Comicon.
A little rooting around and you can find some fine examples of work from the two shows, both look well worth visiting. Images below are via Ltd gallery’s Facebook page, their Twitter account, and the Secret Headquarter’s Facebook events page.
