Welcome to Shelf Porn, where every Saturday we invade a fan’s home to show you their stuff. Today’s shelves belong to Curt, who shares not only his parlor filled with comics and other stuff, but also his wife’s Nightmare Before Christmas collection.

Wanna show off your stuff? Check out all the details on how to submit your own collection right here.

And now let’s hear from Curt …

*****

Hello, my name is Curt. I’ve been collecting comics for the majority of my life, along with all the nerdy collectibles that come with it. I recently moved into my first house and finally have a space where I can display my collection in a way I think it deserves. My wife and I are huge nerds and I’ve included pictures of her collection, as well. My room is primarily a comic reading area, while hers is housed in our guest bedroom. I hope you enjoy our collection as much as we’ve enjoyed being able to finally display it.

Really enjoyed your collection and your awesome display of art. Really liked your v for vendetta street sign

Awesome Goon figures. Also have one of the Abe Sapien autographed posters, I think in that exact same frame. haha

Some cool stuff right there.

Nice collection and display, great spaces to enjoy.

nice collection espiclaly love doctor doom getting his own area. and also that v for vendetta mask.

Nice collection, but I would think it would be a pain to get at a book on your shelf with all the figures, etc., arranged in front. I like the Dr. Doom stuff.

where did you get that big comics code seal framed.

Agree with Sam. Would love to know where the comics code came from. What a unique addition to an awesome collection.

I think it says more about me than anything else that my first thought was: “man, it’s possible to own nice comics and nice furniture/window draperies?” ;)

Wonderful rooms! I love how proportionally hung the art. Plus the Dr. Doom corner. And it’s awesome that Sting and Mjolnir are just casually lying on a box and on a chair. I’m wondering is that wire comic rack propped up in front of the door, or is it attached / hanging? And where did you get it?

The wife’s Nightmare Before Christmas room is amazing! Did she paint / make the bedposts?

I want this room. It’s lovely.

Very nice collection. The one thing that stood out for me was the awesome Daredevil statue in the second picture.

Amazing. Very eclectic. Loved the 1984 sign.

Nice to see that the term “Shelf Porn”, created by my buddy Scott, is being used as the name of this column but perhaps giving the creator of the term credit would have been the decent thing to do?

really @ mickie i’ve heard the term used since the late 80’s are you saying that your friend scott invented the term?

So… much… Yojimbo… so… jealous…

What an amazing, and amazingly-displayed, collection. Just fantastic. I love the “reading parlour” feel to the place – it’s so classy and yet totally comfortable at the same time.

Wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

I’m kinda drooling at some of this amazing collection… all the Hellboy stuff, that FF She-Hulk statue…

Superb!

This is the best yet. Great taste in comics and in decorations as well. This is the first time ive seen one of these shelf porns and wished i was friends with the owner. Cheers. I pictured myself in one of those chairs with a beer and cigar. Ha.

This is the best “shelf porn” I’ve seen! I have quite a few of the same items, great stuff! All it’s missing is a little Flaming Carrot and Nexus!

Could you can your room with me?

Great collection
Keep these good rooms coming

Wow – two Savage Dragon sketches by Erik Larson? I’m jealous! Awesome rooms!

Thanks for all the kind comments! To answer a few questions: Yes, my wife painted the NBX bed herself; the comic racks are attached to the door and I got them from a store that was going out of business that had them hanging by the magazines; the CCA print was bought here http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=221195632655 and I just bought a frame to fit it.

I like MOUSE GAURD & DEMONS poster & whats that event poster near DOOMs head?

Man, I love that Doomsday poster. So jealous. Kudos, my friend.
