WOW!! That’s a rather impressive collection.

Nuff’ Said :D

Peace

Excellent display but needs more Flash. :)

Oh. My. Good. Lord! ….shelf porn indeed!

That looks like a fun room to hang out in.

That is fuckin epic!

Love, love, love the old school Joker poster.

Best. Shelf porn. Ever!!!!

That has got to be the neatest, most organized collection I’ve ever seen! Beautiful!

Great collection !!! But, I thought we were supposed to take pictures of our home collections, not our local comic shop – LOL. Love the collection of statues. Lots of cool stuff!

WE HAVE A WINNER

Holy hell, that is just glorious.

I have no words…

Saw first shot with the framed prints – thought: oh that’s really nice.

Saw second shot – though: oh my god! That is better than the warehouse at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark!

Amazing collection and set up.

That is the most stylish and orgamized room to display comics ever. Truly inspired, you have good taste and keep it understated, almost museum like. I will take ideas from you my friend. Excellent job.

holy shit this is the best one yet. i was going to submit mine, but now i dont want to

impresive collection i really love all the art work on the walls and all the hot wheels and super man stuff. bet i took a long time to put together

Hi guys . First of all I’d like to thank you for all your comments . It is really appreciated . I’m sorry for the lack of commentary prefacing my photos so I’ll try rectifying that here . I have been reading comics since I was 9 so that makes it 30 years . I just LOVE the medium with all it’s styles and genres and maybe got a bit carried away with it ( I wouldn’t have it any other way ) My family and I just moved to our new place and it was a massive chore moving my collection . I couldn’t stand the thought of having it all disorganised so I quickly knocked up the shelves and arranged them so it would all fit with room for more ( This is a definite ) Eventually I would like to join and paint all the shelves to add a bit more cleanliness when I get the chance . I have more ideas for my room which is actually 2 rooms joined together . The other half of the room will be my next opus to comics . Again thank you all .

Wow, this looks nicer than some comic shops I’ve walked into! Well done!

This is a geek heaven, not just a comic book collection.

Oh my giddy aunt!

We do indeed have a winner! Fantastic!

I’m actually wondering about the floppies…the collections seem to have all bases covered.

I wish my LCS was as well stocked. Hell I wish Amazon was!

I wish I had all those Greg Rucka books. Windows alway make me nervous in great rooms like this. If I could make one that nice, it would have to be in a windowless flood proof basement with temperature control like Homer has in the first Simpson’s comic.

Are those all handmade bookcases? Did you use plans from anywhere?

I’m truly inspired by this layout and collection. Most impressive.

Timber for the book cases were just from the hardware store . Measured out the shelf spaces I needed then screwed each shelf in . Mdf on the back then fill , fill , fill .

Very cool. When that first pic loaded I got a little thrill like when Indy finally opened the tomb in Raiders! Very nice set up. I like how you’ve used the shelves back to back for more storage. It’s definitely given me ideas. Have you even had the chance to read all those books and tradepaperbacks? I’ve gotten to the stage where I’m reducing my new comics reading because I have so much stuff already ( I still get way too much stuff though!!) and I figure when you have that much stuff time to focus on reading the back catalogue instead of the new stuff. Good to see you’ve still got the passion though. Keep it up.

Truly impressive. This is the type of room I’d love to have when I buy my next home…

Jamie I know exactly what you mean in regards to getting around to reading back issues . I have never been a fan of long boxes because I love having ready access to my comics . You never know what reading mood you’ll be in . I have read everything in my room except maybe half of the Showcases . If only I had more time . Red the Dove , when we built the house I didn’t want the windows . My wife overruled me

wow….a collection of comic shop?!?!?!?!

color me jelly….

Wow, that’s a brilliant collection – possibly the best I’ve ever seen. I am extremely envious :)

Ha I wish Reverse Flash . Just a construction worker .

Congrats Louie!!! Just flat out BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow. Where do you keep your wife and kids? LOL

That is the best thing I’ve seen today!

Inspirational!

Truly, TRULY amazing. Being an architecture major I really appreciate the thought put into laying this out and ordering everything so cleanly (some of these rooms we see on here just drive me crazy). Very clean, very inspirational. Thank you for sharing!

Best collection I’ve ever seen. :)

Wow. Just…wow.

Nice to see Lost Girls on this shelf..I mean, if you’re gonna show off your shelf porn you might as well have some actual porn..right?

The best I’ve seen so far. Humongous and very well-organized.

Can i get the plans or prints for the bookshelves

Very nice. I wish my space was this well organized.

best shelf porn ever.

Just one word…..WOW!

I’m always extremely jealous of these collections, but this one actually made my jaw drop.

That’s a whole lot of reading, nice pics.

Shelf porn, the nuclear option.

Bloody hell fella that’s a great collection. Sod going away on holiday, can I book into the room for a week?

I see the Harry Potter poster collection, but none of the movies. I found that odd, or maybe I just missed them.

Anyway, GREAT collection. Truly a work of art.

Gosh ! It’s not a comics collection, it’s a comic shop !!! Or a librairy devoted to comics ! I’ve never seen such a stuff. It’s the story of all a life. AMAZING. Thank you for sharing, and bravo bravo bravo !

Awesome. Beautiful. I came here after having checked the sad news that Carmine Infantino had passed away. It gave me the same feeling as when your pet dies and you cheer up the moment you get a new one.

Wow, I have just seen a picture of my dreams. I have 35 years worth of comics but all my pre-2001 stuff is stocked, boxed, under the roof. I don’t have all that display space, but the real problem is that I need new shelves which, at the moment, I can’t afford.

Holy Geek Cave, Batman.

That shelving really makes your room look good! Definitely better than ugly comic book boxes on the floor (my situation). And if you get bored of the Wonder Woman in Armor statue, feel free to send her my way! Wow!

That is a fantastic room. I am all envy.

Oh dear lord i so deserve that space !

Pretty epic! What are those really thin DC trades in between the complete Farside and the Absolutes?

“GASP!”

WOW!! very inspiring.
You might wanna do a video tour one day.

Jesus jones!!! What everyone else said; ‘king amazing!!!

Love it! Cool collection! Plus shelf space for the super large DC Comics 75 year history book.

Best
MK

Absolutely incredible. Just stunning. Thank you for sharing this with us all!

Lovely Collection and superbly diplayed.. congratulations.

So much beauty…..*sniff*

Is that Ghost Rider a glue and paint it yourself model kit? i think i had that.

impressive setup! thanks for sharing. maybe one day ill share mine.
mf

Wow, incredible collection and an even more incredible way to present it. It’s like having your own little comic library. I think I’d spend all day/every day in a room like this. :P
Not a big fan of Marvel though I see, haha

Thanks again for all the kind words guys . Sorry I haven’t been able to respond to questions . Been working. In regards to building your own shelves you really need to see what space you have from ceiling to floor then work out what fits . When doing this check what lengths your local hardware store sells their timbres in order to maximise usage ( no or little off cuts ) Make the size of your shelf to what ever backing sheeting you can get to avoid cutting them . Work out your shelf spacings and square up everything .
Ryan , the Harry Potters were with the blurays on the opposite shelf of the DVDs . I forgot to submit the picture
Tim H , Wonder Woman statue is quite happy where she is
Jamie P , got 4 kids so there is no room in the house ( my room is MY retreat )
Timothycat , oversized Dini and Ross DC profile books , Waid and Hitch JLA Heavens Ladder , Superman/Fantastic Four by Jurgens and Morrisons 18 Days
Vito , yes it is . Got it for 3 dollars . Paint cost a lot more
Thanks again everyone .

Joey I do like some Marvel stuff but it’s DC all the way for me

That is a lifetime of collecting. Beautiful. Hope you’re kids share your passion and you get to pass on some of your immense enthusiasm. I too have 35 years of comics and my kids sometimes show an interest, ussually the Star Wars stuff. Very professional and nicely organized. I thought you might have worked Ina comic shop to have accumulated such a gorgeous collection. Well done its great. Wayne

Money doesn’t buy you happiness. But it does buy you stuff that maks you happy, so there’s that.

Very impressive collection and set up.

Man alive. I need all this collection in my life. Amazing setup.

Wow. Very impressive, well organized. Seeing collections like this always want me to have better organization in my collection.

And I love the Batman Forever McDonald’s glasses! I had those as well. I think my favorite thing of shelf porn is seeing those random cool things that I recognize. :)

Best shelf porn ever.

Two questions for Louie:

- What’s the book to the left of Absolute Dark Knight (Green Lantern and Flash are on the spine)

- The Daredevil hardcover to the left of Fantastic Four Omnibus Vol. 1, what is that? Did Marvel put out a Hardcover of the Elektra graphic novels? The Elektra Saga? I’m searching for it and can’t seem to find it.

AWESOME collection. Congratulations and thanks for sharing!

Hey Hawkman , the absolute edition of the Paul Dini and Alex Ross DC profile books . Although I love the individual books it is easier to read in hardcover . The Elektra hardcover is Miller and Sienkiewicz Elektra Assassin and Daredevil Love and War . It came out in 2003

Hey Louis – love your pictures! Thank you for sharing them.

Do you know where you got your frames from? They look like they’re the exact same ones I have (I even have the same prints with the same size as yours but they’re art from Adam Kubert) but I cannot find them anywhere online. I could have sworn I bought mine at Walmart but now I’m not so sure. Do you know where you got yours? What size are they?

I’ll check back here in a couple of days for your response. If you’re on twitter, you can find me by searching for my username – batmansgirl.

Thanks!

Oops! My apologies for misspelling your name, Louie!

batmansgirl , I got the frames from a local discount store for $4.50 each . Just a mum and pup store so unfortunately they wouldn’t ship their stock .

Where did you get those glass shelves that hold your statues? Very nice collection by the way!

Ryan , cabinets were from Ikea . Usually they’re $179 got them on sale for $99 . I am always looking for a bargain when it comes to dressing up my room . More money for comics that way .

Louie, thanks for the info. I had no idea they ever put out an oversize collection of all the World’s Greatest Super-Heroes stories. I gotta track one down now. I’ll say again, this was probably the greatest shelf porn I’ve ever seen.

my brother – very proud of you!!!
now…do they have shelf porn for my Air Jordan Collection – this would be very nice!!!

great f-n set up. made my day. too cool for words. rock on.

I think I have quite a collection of comic books myself but this is like “O.K. think again!”
What an amazing piece of art THAT room is. Respect! Besides the HC of Swamp Thing I couldn’t find: is there a comic book in the world you do NOT own? I mean this is really heaven, I nearly fainted. :-)

Showed this to my wife. “Look! And YOU think I AM crazy?”
And she was like “OMG don’t even THINK about buying that much I will ask for a divorce” (not quite sure if she was serious but I won’t be able to found out anyway) but she really liked the room as well.
Just WOW, bro!

Aw, rats. Thanks for answering my questions!

Spirou my comics and I had the relationship before my wife . She is the mistress . In regards to floppies I don’t think my collection is all that impressive . I never really bought back issues , just stuff off the shelf as it came out ( which were quite a few ) . I started reading ongoing stuff in the early eighties so I don’t really have a lot of key issues in comics history . Trades and hardcovers are really my only gateway into Golden , Silver or Bronze age stuff .

I wanna spend my next holiday in your room…;)
