Patton Oswalt’s ‘Star Wars’/Marvel pitch comes to life in poster

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better than Patton Oswalt’s eight-minute improvised pitch on Parks and Recreation for a Star Wars/Marvel movie crossover, Entertainment Weekly has produced a mash-up poster for Stars Wars: Episode VIIThe Gauntlet of Infinity, inspired by George Perez’s cover for The Infinity Gauntlet #1.

In this new version, Thanos naturally remains at the center, while Mephisto is replaced by Boba Fett — how different might have “One More Day” have been? — and Doctor Strange gives way to Luke Skywalker. There’s also a shot of an X-wing and the Blackbird (not a Quinjet!) in pursuit of Slave I, but that’s only for starters.

Too cool. Someone at least get Mark Hamill’s reaction to this–who cares if it’ll never see the light of day, Patton spoke with unrivaled passion!

Dang!! I actually kind of want to see this movie.

Make this happen, please, I’ll sell you my soul if that’s what it takes… Call Memphisto he’ll whoop up a contract in no time.o

Would probably be the greatest movie ever.

I like it, but why the “Clash of the Titans” pic in the lower lefthand corner? Luke in a Darth Vader suit was a nice touch!

That’s a colourful mess. And what’s the deal with the floating wookiee head.

If you watch the original video, the floating Chewbacca head and Clash of the Titans pic make sense.

I actually liked this one better :

Of all the fake Episode VII posters out there, this one looks the most real. Aging trio, white hairs on Chewbacca, rust on C-3P0 and patented Abrams lens flares everywhere.
