If you were just thinking your summer wouldn’t be complete without some New 52-inspired beach and camping accessories or garden tools, well, you’re in luck: Target has partnered with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and DC Entertainment to introduce an exclusive summer collection of Justice League merchandise.

Debuting Sunday, the line features more than 50 products, sand toys designed to form cities like Gotham and Metropolis, Wonder Woman melamime dinnerware, a Batman snack cup and apron, a Wonder Woman kids’ camp chair, and Batman, Wonder Woman and The Flash beach towels that double as capes.

In addition to the the summer collection, the partnership will see the introduction of a wide range of Justice League merchandise, ranging from $1 Justice League temporary tattoos to the $59.99 Justice League rocking chair. There will also be a line of Justice League Halloween costumes later in the year.

“DC Comics’ Justice League characters are a powerful assemblage of the most recognizable Super Heroes in the history of comic books,” Brad Globe, president of Warner Bros. Consumer Products, said in a statement. “We are incredibly excited to offer fans of all ages a unique collection and collaboration that pairs the heroics of the Justice League characters with the product design and marketing super powers of Target.”

Yes, why surprised. Merchandising sells more than comics, I bet.

Finally, kids can have a cape just like the Flash! Uh, wait. Regardless, I’m sure I’ll end up buying some of the Wonder Woman dinnerware.

I find it hilarious that so much of DC’s merchandise still has Superman & Batman in their pre-New52 outfits. Thought they wanted to get rid of the red undies on the outside, eh? ;)

This is both sad and funny . . . but mostly sad. Just the same, I’m buying an Aquaman watering can . . .

I’m all for having cool superhero merchandise, but who design this stuff. It’s barely recognizable to the license and ….looks just awful!

love DC so much but bar comics and animated movies they so rarely seem to get anything right.

No Cyborg stuff?? Because looking at the Target website-he is certainly MIA in a lot of Justice League stuff,

To be fair, some of the stuff is cute. I grinned at the Batman gardening utility belt and the Batmobile floatee. Pink on Wonder Woman and a Flash cape? Now those are just wrong.

I find it a very positive and hopeful sign, myself. :)

If you’re doing Wonder Woman in a pink and purple color scheme, you need to switch the yellow-gold to gray-silver. Duh.

The movies are doing so well, it was only a matter of time before you can buy anything and everything with DC themes. Can’t blame them though.

Picked up one of the lenticular Wonder Woman placemats. It is now framed and hanging in the kitchen. Not all of these products are great, but there are some gems in this wave.
