In-Depth on Marvel's "Divided We Stand" and The Latest Hydra Cap Twists
Duane in Orange County, Calif. is a man of action — action figures, that is.
“I have always had toys, but growing up I couldn’t have nearly as much as I wanted,” he said. “… Now, when I want something, I seek it out furiously. Unfortunately, as I get older the collectibles that I want get more and more expensive.”
Check out his collection of action figures — Power Rangers, Doctor Who, DC Comics, Avengers and more — below.
At 31, I am a relatively young collector. I have always had toys, but growing up I couldn’t have nearly as much as I wanted. My collection size has ebbed and waned, but after college when I made the mistake of selling collectibles it is only growing. Now, when I want something, I seek it out furiously. Unfortunately, as I get older the collectibles that I want get more and more expensive.
My tastes are pretty eclectic in what I collect, but I seem to go mostly for action figures. When it comes to exactly what I collect, it is not limited to just comics. I collect some random items like Doctor Who and Power Rangers figures.
The majority of what I do collect is related to comic books, but when it comes to action figures I am pretty picky. I am particular about sculpt and build and even what accessories are included. While I still collect the 6 inch figures, I am slowly graduating to the sixth scale action figures (unfortunately, in my submission, I am leaving out my 20+ Star Wars 12 inch figures from Sideshow Collectibles).
