We’ve always heard “Nothing can stop the Juggernaut, but this week’s Shelf Porn puts that old adage to the test when Juggernaut meets an even BIGGER Juggernaut. Luckily neither of them can actually move, because they’re statues, or else we’d have quite a collision.

Today’s collection comes from Peter in Great Britain, who shows us his hardcovers, statues, books and more. If you’d like to see your collection here, you can find submission details at the end of the post.

And now let’s hear from Peter …

*****

I first started reading comics when I was just a young whippersnapper, being English I read Rainbow comics when I was 3 year old then moved onto reading my older brothers collection of Beano & Dandy until I was old enough to buy my own. I stopped reading comics somewhere along the way but skip to 2008 and I discovered digital comics, which then got me into the gorgeous oversized Marvel collections. I bought a few and even got my first Omnibus (Punisher by Ennis) but then I drifted away again. Now I’m 30 I’ve resumed my collecting but now I collect not only Marvel, but DC, Image, and some European publishers.

I’d like to mention these shots are from my old collection, It’s a snapshot of what I had maybe 18 months ago so a lot is missing. If you enjoy these blurry cell phone shots I can hopefully send in some photos of my new shelves if Shelf Porn allows me on twice.

001

The very first Marvel books I bought. I had a few Bowens before then of some of the Spidey villains.

002

I read all sorts but my favourite author is King, I have a few signed books from when he came to London for some signings

003

I’m not very knowledgeable with DC but I love discovering interesting new characters like Grodd & Lobo

004

I love this sculpt so had to include it here

005

006

Squaring up against the 25″ tall Sideshow Collectibles Juggernaut maquette, based on the movie

007

These shots are from my old bedroom, when I still lived with my parents

008

I had around 2000 novels in those days, when I moved out into my own place I had to slim it down to just my favourite few (favourite few hundred mind), no easy task for an obsessive collector/hoarder like myself

009

I also collected all the Eaglemoss Marvel and DC lead figurines, hundreds of them, sadly all in storage now

Wow! What a great collection! It’s hard to believe you’ve been collecting for such a relatively short time. Thanks for sharing.

Nice collection. I love the setup in the Expedit with the trades and the Bowen figures. Very cool Beano figure collection too!

Where is the pornography on the shelves? All I see are TPB, action figures and busts/statues.

Shelf porn refers to the photos of various collections, not porn you jack off.

Here’s what the expedits look like today http://i.imgur.com/ZouVW72.jpg http://i.imgur.com/q7FD7i0.jpg
Only things not included are the DC Omnibus volumes and the huge books like the Absolutes and Adamantium book. When I’ve got them filled properly and tidy them up a bit I’ll get some properly lit pics done and resubmit.

Wow this is amazing. I love the line of hulk statues lining the 2nd expedit you posted above

what a nice collection love that huge juggernaut statue. too bad you can’t put some of your statues you have in storage into the gaps of the shelves but hat would proably damage them.if the shelves fell

complete the word shelf porn. shelf pornography lol.

That’s a pretty incredible collection of Marvel statues. Well done! I’m jealous.

Love the final setup. Very classy. Would love to see your Eaglemoss collection, I have the near complete set myself. What would make you keep it in storage over everything else? Overall great collection, thanks for sharing!

That’s a lot of novels minus the graphic.

Moose – I needed the space for the second Expedit. It was so much effort boxing up a few hundred lead figures that they won’t be making a reappearance anytime soon, unless of course I win the lottery this week and can move to a bigger place!.

Shawn – Reminds me I forgot to photo ‘big Hulk’, that ones about the same size as the bigger of the Juggernaut.

Damian – As for the books I buy way more than I can read and sometimes I look at things and think why did I buy that rubbish?, I’m putting up more shelves in my lunge to house my novels, I’m a sucker for horror or epic million page sci-fi/fantasy yarns.

I like the placement of tbe statues to fill in the gaps on ur bookshelf. I also like those indented shelves.

A true Stephen King-asm are you! And, a truly lover of anything “charging” and “raging” stuffs! Great job!

The Maestro statue is really bad-ass.

Nice collection, would like to see your collection as it is now.

Awesome Collection!! I just finished “The Dark Tower” series… Stephen King also is my favorite author, and I’m pretty certain “The Dark Tower” is my favorite story of all time. Keep up the collecting!

i got tired of King, his son writes better.

That’s pretty much how my King collection looked like before I got tired of hauling it everywhere and moved and decided to go digital. Alas I never had anything autographed, so that helped.

That’s excellent! I’d also love to see the updated photos. All good collections are in a constant state of flux.
