ComiXology offers 100 comiXology Submit books for $10

comixology-submit-bundle

ComiXology is celebrating its fifth anniversary with a deal that’s pretty difficult to pass up: a bundle of 100 titles from comiXology Submit, its self-publishing platform for independent creators, for just $10.

That’s 10 cents each for comics like Wolves by Becky Cloonan, Aw Yeah Comics! #1 by Art Baltazar, Franco and others, nemu*nemu: Out of This World by Audra Ann S. Furuichi, Feather #1 by Steve Uy, and The Pride #1 by Joe Glass, Marc Ellerby, Joshua Faith and Gavin Mitchell. Plus, y’know, 95 others.

“We’re thrilled to be able to celebrate our 5-year anniversary by getting so much new and undiscovered talent into readers’ hands through this bundle,” comiXology co-founder and CEO David Steinberger said in a statement. “We did a similar promotion at SXSW this past spring that was a smashing success, and it’s exciting to do this again today.”

You can find the full list of titles here. The offer ends Sunday.

Would love to snap it up, alas I have boycotted Comixology ever since they closed in-app purchase.

No, it is not. I know that especially the indy artists suffer, but I no longer support the major conglomerate dictatorship. Sorry to come across as a total nut, but I stick to my principles.

@Dimo1 You do realize that by buying comics on the website, before the changes, the indy artists got the extra 30% of sales.

Not to mention, in the first Submit Bundle (which you had to buy on the website, there was no in-app purchase because the app couldn’t do bundles) the money I made was 4 times more than my overall.

I’m sure you’re “to save indy comics, first we have to kill it” theory seems noble to you, but I assure you, it doesn’t help anyone. It doesn’t help you discover new comics and creators, and it doesn’t help the creators get a little pocket money to help continue to do what they love to do.

@Dimo1

Your logic is flawed and your stance is hardly principled. You should be boycotting Apple…not Comixology. I can make in-app purchases on my Android based Nexus 10 without any problems. It’s apple who doesn’t want ANY company selling anything without getting a cut of it. Comixology which now part of Amazon refuses to give Apple a cut.

Get an Android device, and you can make in-app purchases. However I will point out that Bundles have yet to be made available in-app.
