‘Dragon Ball Fusion Project’ RPG announced for Nintendo 3DS

Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced a new Dragon Ball role-playing game for Nintendo 3DS, targeted for release later this year in Japan. It’s billed as “Dragon Ball’s first fusion RPG on 3DS.”

Unveiled in the March issue of Shueisha’s V Jump magazine, Dragon Ball Fusion Project is teased as having “unlimited possibilities.” A magazine illustration depicts a fusion between Goku and Broly, as well rough designs for other characters, accompanied by the text, “The emergency plan starts now. You will create your own Fusion Warrior!”

No other details about the game have been released.

According to Anime News Network, a manga adaptation of the video game will be published later this year by Shueisha’s Saikyō Jump, which is holding a contest in which readers can submit designs that combine two Dragon Ball characters, as if they had performed fusions. The winning entry will appear in the game.

Bit of a shame this is only on 3DS, we haven’t had original fusions since Tiencha on Budokai 2. Hope the villains get some fusions too and it’s not just Sayian characters. Oh and course the awkward question of what happens when a male and female character fuse…

They should fuse the Dragon Ball Super show with people who can draw consistently.
