Watch ‘The Walking Dead: Michonne’ launch trailer

Telltale Games has debuted the launch trailer for the first episode of The Walking Dead: Michonne, a three-part miniseries starring the sword-wielding, fan-favorite character.

Announced in December, the game follows Michonne (voiced by Samira Wiley of Orange is the New Black) during her time away from Rick and the other survivors in issues #126-139 of the hit Image Comics series by Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard.

Available beginning today for PC/Mac, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360, Episode 1 “In Too Deep” finds Michonne joining Pete and his crew on the sailing ship The Companion as they cruise the coast for survivors and supplies. When a call for help draws them to a scene of horrific massacre, they’re led further to the floating survivors’ colony of Monroe, which may harbor the person responsible for the carnage.

The first episode will be available beginning Thursday for iOS and Android devices. Episode 2, “Give No Shelter” will follow in March, with the miniseries concluding in April with “What We Deserve.”

Uh– So is this a video game or an animated series?
Also- why isn’t danai Gurira doing the voice?

A game in the style of the other Telltale Walkng Dead games.

She might not have wanted to or didn’t have time. I don’t think they got the actors that play Glenn and Hershel to do the voices when they appeared in the past episodes of the game. I’m not sure. But the games are based more in the comics world than the show. So the voices don’t really matter here.
