Comment guidelines
We want to hear from our readers on what they think about the news, information and opinions we post here. Lively and thoughtful conversation is encouraged, but we do ask you to keep it civil. Or to put it in simple terms, “Don’t be a jerk.”
In case you’re wondering what being a jerk entails, it could include any of the following:
1) Insulting, attacking, wishing death upon or using profanity against other folks who comment, comic pros or the people who write for this site. This includes racist, sexist or homophobic remarks. It also includes the user name you decide to post under.
2) Discussing the people involved rather than the topic, accusing people of ulterior motives and simply being nasty.
3) Impersonating someone else, particularly a comic pro, in the comments section, even in jest.
4) Posting multiple times in the same thread under different user names.
5) Adding links to offensive content on another website.
6) Blatant self-promotion. The spam filters take care of most of this, but if you’re posting a link that doesn’t add to the conversation, that’s not cool.
Failing to not be a jerk could result in your comment being moderated or deleted, or in being banned from the site completely. In the immortal words of Dalton, “Be nice.”
